Saturday, July 23, 2005 is the date for our annual summer pot-luck supper at the Naper Settlement in Naperville. After parking at the high school next door, join us in the far south western corner of the Naper Settlement grounds. The starting time is set at four o’clock, but there is much to see and do when in the area, and an early arrival assures you of taking advantage of the settlement museum itself (admission charge) as well as the Naperville River Walk and assorted free attractions. This is a family event, with time and space for all ages to leisurely enjoy the friendly company of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers. Bring a dish to pass that feeds ten hungry folks, and come and enjoy summer at its best! For additional information, or to RSVP, contact
Helen Haugsnes (helen@rpcvs.org).

Join fellow RPCVs for a great time & celebrate RPCVs of Northeastern Illinois and Chef Ganga Rawat invite you to enjoy good conversation and a tasty variety of Northern and Southern Indian dishes with fellow RPCVs as we celebrate Peace Corps Week 2005 at the India Palace Restaurant! From February 28 through March 6, 2005, returned volunteers across the country will be engaged in the third goal of Peace Corps - Bringing the World Home. One of our group's Action Areas is Community and School Outreach. Peace Corps Week is an ideal opportunity to show your support for RPCVs of Northeastern Illinois, and make an impact in your community. Consider the possibility that your personal outreach in a local school, service club, place of worship, or workplace will create a passion for making a difference in the lives of others. There are scores of resources available on the Peace Corps Website to support your participation in Peace Corps Week. Download fact sheets and power point presentations and add your own slides and ideas. If you have questions, send an e-mail to rick@rpcvs.org or kelly@rpcvs.org.
Come make a difference! Join us at our group's annual meeting! Our guest speakers this year will be Stephanie Arnold (Vice Chair, National Peace Corps Association), Trina Janes (President, Chicago Area Peace Corps Association), and Ginny Koch (Peace Corps' Chicago Area Regional Manager).
